Fifteen creative hub leaders from the Philippines have been selected to become Creative Innovators Fellows. Eighty-four applicants from three key cities within the Philippines applied to a highly competitive open call launched by British Council, DTI and partners last June 2018. A selection panel composed of artists and creative industry leaders narrowed down the list, based on the creative hub’s potential to scale impact, long-term plans, and narrative, among others.

Diasporic Intimacies: Queer Filipinos and Canadian Imaginaries is the first edited volume of its kind, featuring the works of leading scholars, artists, and activists who reflect on the contributions of queer Filipinos to Canadian culture and society.


HollowBlock is a retail incubator dedicated to supporting and nurturing the next generation of contemporary artists who design with Philippine heritage in mind.

This program bridges art with enterprise while challenging consumers to shop beyond the walls of the megamalls. HollowBlock made its debut exhibition as part of Design Week PH with Ottomondi’s Inabel at Pineapple Lab.

2017. SECRET ON An interdisciplinary exhibit about the current state of Child Sexual Exploitation and Trafficking

DULO x Destiny Rescue gathered artists from different creative fields to work on a collaborative project that aims to raise awareness about an issue that plagues our country, a topic that we are all aware of but do not pay much attention to because we do not realize just how much of a pandemic it is. 

2017. AFTER EVE is a joint exhibit featuring "Kalendaryo" by Jodinand Aguillon & Christine Mangosing, and "Tropical Gothic" by VINTA GALLERY creative director, Caroline Mangosing. 2013. SAVE ME is a group art show at 185 Augusta in Toronto’s Kensington Market to support the preservation of Kensington’s unique culture. Currently several major developments are poised to drastically change the market. Save Me will show case a collection of original artwork made by artists living in or inspired by the neighbourhood with proceeds going towards establishing a trust for the preservation of Kensington Market. 2013.

Creative Innovators Film Series (Pineapple Lab)

HATAW Performing Arts brings together professional dancers, singers, musicians, multi-disciplinary artists, and community dancers from Filipino folkdance troupes across North America. 

HATAW interprets traditional Filipino folkdance through the lens of the Filipino-Canadian experience, fusing diverse styles of contemporary dance.

Fringe Manila is an open access, non curated, uncensored arts and community festival that aims to showcase fresh, daring, and groundbreaking material, highlighting the unique point of view of emerging and established artists from the Philippines and all over the world in theater, literature, music, dance, visual art, film, cabaret, performance art, circus and every other artistic genre in between.

Pineapple Lab is a creative arts space and gallery dedicated to finding innovative ways to showcase the works of Filipino art makers, international artists and collaborators. Located in Barangay Poblacion in Makati City, Pineapple Lab situates itself in the heart of one of Metro Manila’s oldest historic districts and center of business and entertainment.
