Meet Candace. She began dancing at the age of seven, training in folk, hip hop & contemporary dance. Canadac is a first year student at theUniversity of Toronto studying International Development & HATAW’s resident “bunso”. 

Meet Victoria. Known for engaging audiences as a singer-songwriter, her stop-at-nothing attitude has landed her roles on feature films, television, commercials as well as modelling for print ads. 

Meet Char. Music video girl, backup dancer and singer for local Toronto Artists such as Maylee Todd and Phèdre. One half of brother-sister dance duo The Wuarwuars. 

Meet Crista. Professional hair and make up artist, third generation member of North America’s longest standing Filipino dancetroupe Fiesta Filipina and most recently Co-Founder & Associate Artistic Director of HATAW. Proud mother of 3. 

Meet Blessyl. A Doctor of chiropractic, dance health and conditioning specialist. Dance artist. Proud Mother of 3. 

Meet Christine. Creative Director of CMango Design, Art director for Exclaim! Magazine, founding member and mentor for Kapisanan Philippine Centre for Arts & Culture, playwright/actor. Christine fearlessly creates across disciplinesand embodies a beautiful balance of timeless & progressive in her work . 

Meet Nikki. A young arts professional, most notably known for herrole as Executive Director of Kapisanan Philippine Centrefor Arts & Culture. Also a lover of comics, she sports Batman-themed tattoos and is your local Valkyrie atone Million Comix.

Meet Ashley. Currently completing her second year in FashionManagement, Ashley has been dancing since the tenderage of 3. Fun fact: she’s also the girl Drake sings aboutin Hotline Bling. 

Meet Genevieve. With over twenty years of traditional folk dance, she has been a principal dancer/assistant choreographer with theFiesta Filipina Dance Troupe of Canada. A graduate of OCAD for design and illustration, she is happiest when she’screating. As senior oral designer at Quince Flowers, she is able to combine her passion for nature and design. 

Meet Kaye. Certified Vinyasa and aerial yoga teacher, she is the founder of yoga lifestyle brand, kaye.yoga. she is also the host andproducer of TV show Live Breathe Yoga on Filipino TV and Executive Administrator for Folklorico Filipino Canada. 

Meet Robin. A yoga + pilates instructor, thai massage therapist and Mama. she shares her movement practices at various studios inToronto as well as with her growing private/corporate clientele. Devoted to finding and sharing good-body-feels, Robinbelieves that when we feel at our best in our skin, we feel at our best in our experiences. 

Meet Diana. A multi-disciplinary artist, she is recognized for her house and Waacking worldwide. While honing in on herplaywriting skills and television acting, she has also received international press as a painter. 

Meet Liza. TV Producer. Blogger. World traveller. Self-proclaimedmermaid. Dancing has been in Liza’s blood as her Mother founded The Philippine Barangay Performing ArtsSociety, whose notable alumni include HATAW’s ownJodinand and Cynthia. 

Meet Cynthia. An Actress from Edmonton, she is also a graduate of theacting program at the National Theatre School of Canada. She grew up dancing and teaching for The PhilippineBarangay Performing Arts Society and is currently HATAW's Managing Director.


With one foot grounded in our past as the other foot fearlessly dances forward into the future- HATAW presents Kalendaryo 2016. Inspired by vintage portraits of women in the Philippinesthroughout history, we showcase just a few of the many incredibly inspiring, magicallymulti-talented and brilliantly badass people that make up HATAW.
